Farewell to Gavin Bornholdt
It is with great sadness that we pass on the news that Gavin Bornholdt died from a heart attack on Saturday 12 November. Gavin was Commodore of MYC from 1992 – 1994, a wonderful club member and a sunburst sailor for about 25 years.
Gavin's funeral service was marked by touching tributes from his son Carl and MYC mates John Tattersall and Alan Webb. The Club membership paid their respects on Saturday 19 November with a fleet sail past flying black ribbons. Carl and John sailed Gavin's Sunburst, Conquistador, in the racing.
